"saw three friends i hadn't seen in months in one week. i did nothing. that's the part that gets me — i did nothing."
Grapevine is the friend who notices things. She runs quietly on your phone and texts you when someone you care about is nearby, when plans are forming, and when it's time to actually see someone — all in a voice that sounds like a real friend, not a notification.
no feed. no posts. no streaks. she lives in the one app you actually open — Messages — and only speaks up when it's worth it. here's what that looks like, four ways.
Grapevine watches the dots Find My can't make sense of. When a friend wanders into a coffee shop two blocks from you, she asks once — quietly, on your terms.
She watches for friends gathering somewhere good — a wine bar, a dinner, a slow sunday — and flags it before the group chat dies of "we should hang out soon."
One soft nudge a week. She remembers who you said you'd see, what you've been meaning to do, and asks you about it like a friend would — not a productivity app.
She does the awkward part. Finds a night that works, picks a place two of you both like, and only loops the group in once it's real. No more dead group chats.
Every nudge has to pass one gut check: does this sound like a slightly extroverted friend who just had an idea on the subway? If it sounds like an HR email, we rewrite it.
"omg sarah just walked into sightglass — want me to ping her you're nearby? ☕"
"jake & maria are at lucia rn — wanna roll through? (i'll only tell them if you say yes)"
"sunday!! any plans this week or anyone you've been meaning to see? i can poke at it"
"Good evening. Sarah has arrived at Sightglass Coffee."
"It appears your friends are gathered at a nearby establishment."
"Don't forget to nurture your relationships this week. 💜"
Grapevine is a location-aware social utility for adults (18+) on iPhone. We help friends in New York notice when people they care about are nearby, when plans are forming, and when it's worth meeting up — delivered primarily through the Grapevine iOS app and optional text messaging on Grapevine's G line (iMessage, SMS, and RCS).
Grapevine sends account-related text messages on the G line (via Blooio — iMessage, SMS, or RCS) only to users who explicitly opt in during iOS app onboarding and text G first. Messages may include weekly check-ins, friend proximity alerts, and plan-related prompts you can reply to. We do not send marketing blasts to people who have not installed and opted in.

Friend invites to join Grapevine are sent by users from their own phone via Apple Messages — not from Grapevine's G line.
We've been running grapevine quietly with a small group of friends in NYC. Here's what they've sent us — usually over text, usually with too many exclamation marks.
"saw three friends i hadn't seen in months in one week. i did nothing. that's the part that gets me — i did nothing."
"she texted me 'jake's at the bar' and i just walked over. this is what i wanted from technology my whole life."
"the sunday check-in feels like a friend texting me, not a productivity app. i actually look forward to it???"
"deleted find my. deleted my calendar. ok not really. but i think about my schedule completely differently now."
"she brokered a dinner with two people i've been trying to hang out with for a year. it took me one tap. one."
"feels like having a really social roommate who's slightly more on top of life than me. lowkey changed how i live in nyc."
"no app on my home screen has done less and given me more. she's mostly invisible until she isn't."
"told her to mute weekends. she did. didn't sulk. didn't send a 'we noticed you've been quiet' email. perfect."
"i ran into someone i'd been meaning to call for six months. grapevine said 'she's a block away.' i went. that was it."

grapevine's in a closed beta in new york, letting in a few people every week. drop your email and we'll reach out when a spot opens. (This waitlist is email only — Grapevine SMS opt-in happens inside the iOS app; see our SMS consent disclosure.)
